Our AluWood composite door systems have kept the superb operating system used with our timber doors which means that you can retain the smooth running and beautiful hinges while gaining the benefits of the aluminium external finish.
We have however upgraded to our WF hinge system which allows for a maximum width of 950mm and a maximum height of 2600mm and also offers you 4 different finishes from our recommended satin stainless steel through to chrome, pvd brass and even pvd black.
Currently we only offer the top hung door mechanism but for those of you who need to have bottom rolling doors due to the lack of lintels or support we can offer the timber (link timber) or aluminium (link aluminium) systems. Top hung is always the perfect choice as it not only transfers the weight of the doors more evenly but also offers and effortless operation that is achievable with one finger. Bottom roller hinge systems are ideally suited for projects where there is not support above, such as green oak homes, orangeries, conservatories and old buildings. We have a huge amount of expertise in this area and our fitters are highly trained in fitting to green oak frames. One of the most important factors for buyers is the way their folding sliding doors operate. There are many different manufacturers out there offering an array of different setups. At Valdi buyers are offered top hung systems or the alternative bottom rollers, both have their uses but it is widely agreed that a top hung system like the one Valdi provide as standard offers the best end result. Hinges come fully assembled and holes are pre drilled for precise locating when fitting. The WF system has been tested to over 100,000 cycles ensuring that your doors will run perfectly for years to come. Valdi incorporate the WF hinge system created for our composite door system as they have been designed to the highest level and the choice of colours helps to complement the aluminium and timber variation. Shown in the picture is the WF carrier that takes the majority of the folding sliding doors weight and is hidden into the guide track at the top of your doors. Made from the highest grade stainless steel with custom machined bearings to extremely fine tolerances with a minimum of 6 bearings to each carrier. Individually precision machined guided wheels. Innovative and accurate carrier design coupled with the railed top track prevents scraping on the insides of the overhead track or racking as the doors move. Add to this the polypropylene floor channel lining and the result is an extremely smooth and almost silent action that shouts quality. Incorporating a automatic locking mechanism to the height adjustment allows you to create fine tuning without accidental change, and is adjusted simply by the turn of an allen key.
Hinges are made of the same high quality stainless steel found in the majority of our hardware and come in a range of uses. Folding sliding doors are built with a centrally fitted D handle hinge that allows for ease of closing. Hinges come fully assembled and holes are pre drilled for precise locating when fitting. The WF system has been tested to over 50,000 cycles with some parts tested to over 100,000 cycles ensuring that your folding sliding doors will run perfectly for years to come.
Tracks
WF Bottom tracks act as a guide for the doors but with their precision engineering and polypropylene lining assist in an effortless glide and almost silent operation. The same channel is used in all our sill types including a completely flush room divider option. As the doors are typically top hung grit and dirt in the bottom channel do not affect the smooth running and are easily cleaned if needed. Built in drainage allows for any moisture and water to drain away from the doors and your home. Our various sill types mean that you can achieve any look and also maintain complete weather protection.
F3 bottom rolling track systems still offer effortless opening as the track and rollers are set on a camber it means that any dust and dirt is moved away from the running area. An external seal also protects the sill from day to day dirt making this system a very reliable alternative to a top hung system.
